The clandestine kitchen

Remember when you were a little kiddo running around in the back yard building forts and small spaces to hide in, made out of tool sheds and tree houses?  "No boys aloud" hanging over the doorway?  Do you remember having tea parties with your friends and dolls surrounding your small table set perfectly?  We think that adults have that inside of them and want it to this day.  That desire to be a part of something small and secret.  To be surrounded by loving friends supporting each other and praising the talents just pouring out of us.  This is a place for that to happen.  Here is the 411:

Each Paladar night, there will be a guest chef. She may be a local expert who has been wowing potluck gatherings for years. He may be a budding chef at your local cafe with the desire to shine alone outside of his workplace kitchen. She may be the owner of a catering company who wants to make herself better known in the community.  She may be a master chef working at a very well known California restaurant. He may be your Dad, your Mom, or anyone from your family interested in sharing amazing food.  All of these people could sign up to be a guest chef at the Paladar.  Our goal is to let someone shine where and when they might not otherwise and pay them for it!  The guest chef will decide what to wow the crowd with each night, what farm or local business to buy from, and what beverage pairings to serve.  This is the star of the night.  If you or someone you know would love to do something like this, please contact us and we will set up a meeting over the phone or in person to create a wonderful menu together!

Also, at Polly's Paladar, we want to have our events reflect the turning seasons. What holidays, traditions, or produce is available at that moment.  Also, how does being entertained tie in with our dining experiences?  We want to have the chef and the food be co stars, but also give local amazing talent a spot in the limelight as well.  Spoken word artists, visual artists, musicians, film makers, authors, DJs, designers... you name it.  Do you have a friend who is just so talented that you cannot even stand it?  Do you or someone you know want to share with a small group of enthusiasts in an intimate setting, their art?  We will have different artists sharing each night that will create a setting different from anything else available in town.  Plus, you can say, after, that you heard the most amazing musicians at Polly's Paladar and know that it was once in a lifetime.

We need staff!  As a server or kitchen staff, you will be fed and make tips from your night of fun!

As a legal supper club, we have to have "members".  This means that we have to have a meaningful criteria to decide who may become part of the club.  Also, a fee, separate from your ticket prices must be part of it.  We feel that a small fee of $1.00 should suffice and give you entrance to wonderful opportunities that you would never have elsewhere.  Along with that you must recite in person, the vows of POLLY"S PALADAR which follow:

"I, __________________, love food and good company."

If you are unable to comply with the requirements of becoming a member.... it's your loss!

We are looking for donations of kitchen tools, food, wine, chairs, napkins, stage equipment, decorations, glasses, pots, pans.... you get the idea.  Let us know if you have anything of this sort laying around that you could part with!
